Bio

I had an early start in design through art and sculpture. By my early teens I’d found woodworking and thrown myself into joinery and wood-turning. I contrasted artistic fixations with a love for science and mechanics in my academic pursuits.

After school I chased a passion for the outdoors and snowboarding around the world as a snowboarding instructor. In doing so I became obsessed with biomechanics and technical equipment. This obsession fostered my tendency to science and engineering; I spent a great deal of energy developing my understanding of technical systems, materials and manufacturing processes.

A snowboarding accident in my mid twenties changed my life dramatically. I chose to refocus my energies and pursue university. I developed my skills in 3D modelling, additive manufacturing and design thinking. Pulling on my experience with biomechanics and outerwear I gravitated to wearable technologies later in my studies. I saw an opportunity to use my own health challenges and broad life experience to create technology that could help others while also exploring craftsmanship through first principles.

After years of studying, researching and working on wearable technology I’ve honed my expertise and developed a niche skill set in creating body worn systems. Despite this niche, I maintain an eclectic interest in the field of design.

All my work is driven by a love of craftsmanship, problem solving and the desire to help others.
